Indian cricketer Deepak Hooda, who presently represents the Baroda cricket team, was born on April 19, 1995. He is an all-rounder who bowls right-arm off-break bowling and bats right-handed. Personal Life

Since his father played kabaddi and was a member of the Air Force, Deepak has always been an avid sports fan. In 2009, at the young age of 14, Deepak competed for the Kendriya Vidyalaya U-17 squad in the SGFI. He joined the team later as a batting all-rounder but had previously played as a wicket-keeper batsman.

Domestic Career

In the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy, Hooda made his first-class debut for Baroda. He became the second batsman from Baroda to get a century in his first game. Snehal Parikh was the only other batsman for Baroda to make a century on his debut before him.

Additionally chosen for the Under 19 World Cup team was Deepak Hooda. He finished the competition as the second-highest run-scorer and second-highest wicket-taker. He is renowned for his powerful hitting, precise spin-bowling option, and quickness in the field.

For his outstanding all-around performance in the 2014–15 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Hooda received the Lala Amarnath Award.


2015 marked Deepak Hooda’s first opportunity to compete in the IPL. The Rajasthan Royals gave him an opportunity. Deepak Hooda played 14 games in his first season alone. In that season, he got Rs. 40 lakhs.

Deepak Hooda produced an amazing 54 off 25 balls in just his second game. In the game, he bowled with an astounding economy of under six runs per over.

During the 2014 Under-19 World Cup in the UAE, Hooda had a significant effect, hitting 235 runs with two fifty-plus scores and taking 11 wickets, including a five-wicket haul.

In the IPL, he has played for both Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. With a strike rate of 139 runs for every 100 balls, he has a top score of 54. He has six wickets in 41 IPL appearances. He has often batted in the middle of the order.

His hitting prowess pleased Sunrisers so much that they acquired him for Rs. 4.2 crores in 2016. The highest first-class score for Hooda is 293.

For Baroda during the 2017–18 Interstate T20 competition, Hooda got a T20 century.
