The tritagonist of the manga and anime series Date A Live is Kotori Itsuka. She is the younger adoptive sister of Shido Itsuka and serves invisibly as the airship’s captain. She is a Spirit as well, the first to be sealed by Shido five years before the start of the story. In the Japanese version of the anime, she is voiced by Ayana Taketatsu, while in the English version, Bryn Apprill does the same.
Kotori Itsuka: Crucial Info
Kotori is a cute middle school student with red eyes and long, light coral-colored hair that is typically tied in the twintail hairstyle, which ties the hair on both sides. Additionally, she always sports a hair that resembles an anime antenna on top of her head. She frequently appears with her preferred Chupa Chups lollipop stick in her mouth. She is 145 cm tall and wears sizes B72, W53, and H74. While wearing white ribbons, Kotori usually wears her school’s signature white uniform with a black tie, a short teal-colored skirt, and long black stockings that reach up to half of her thigh. She typically wears maid-like sleeve clothing with a black skirt and stockings, but when she wears black ribbons, both her appearance and personality change.
Personality: Kotori Itsuka
According to the circumstance, Kotori Itsuka has three distinct personalities. Her personality as a human varies depending on what colour ribbons she is wearing. When she wears black ribbons, she transforms into her “strong self,” a charismatic and occasionally domineering leader who can successfully command the airship Fraxinus. When she wears white ribbons or none at all, she is that of her “weak self,” a delicate little sister who is utterly dependent upon her big brother. The personalities are referred to as being in “commander mode” or “little sister mode,” respectively. Reine asserts that the Kotori wearing white ribbons is the only one who is truly capable of expressing her emotions, indicating that the Kotori wearing black ribbons is only putting on a brave face because it is necessary.
Kotori behaves in her Spirit form in accordance with the colour of her ribbons at the time. But if she remains in her spirit form for an extended period of time, her third personality—her “Spirit personality”—takes control and she transforms into an aggressive and callous killer who only cares about slaying enemies. One could argue that her only interest is in fighting powerful opponents and destroying them completely. When in this state, she is best described as a sadist.
History: Kotori Itsuka
Kotori was the only child raised in the Itsuka household until her parents adopted Shido when she was a young child. Five years prior to the main plot, Kotori’s brother also acquired the ability to seal the Spirits’ powers, but neither of them could recall the specifics of how they came into possession of these abilities. Soon after that incident, unbeknownst to her family at the time, Kotori received an invitation to join Ratatoskr.
Powers & Abilities
In her Spirit form, Kotori changes into her Astral Dress Elohim Gibor, which has a revealing neckline, a translucent sash, and black ribbons tied around a pair of horns. This outfit is reminiscent of a goddess’ robe from Japanese folklore. Although Camael, her angel, appears as a sizable red halberd, it can be broken apart to become Megiddo, a cannon propelled by Kotori’s own flames. Megiddo can penetrate even other Spirits’ defences with its potent energy beams. Shido frequently employs or borrows Kotori’s potent regeneration skill when he is attempting to win over spirits. In essence, it is a power that, so long as the user has enough “mana,” shields them from certain death. In addition, it makes all physical harm done to the recipient disappear, but it only covers their body.

Due to the nature of her abilities, Kotori is prone to losing control when she feels the urge to defeat another Spirit, which has twice resulted in extensive damage. Because of this, Kotori views the use of her Spirit abilities as a last resort that she only makes when absolutely necessary.
